Centerstone Illinois Leadership
John Markley serves as Chief Executive Officer of Centerstone Illinois. In this role, he is responsible for the leadership and operational oversight of Centerstone Illinois’ clinical and specialized services, as well its overall growth and financial performance. Markley has served with Centerstone and its legacy organizations since 1985.
Under Markley’s leadership, Illinois’ operations have expanded from Southern Illinois to include Southwestern Illinois, following a 2015 merger with legacy organization WellSpring Resources in Alton, Illinois. Centerstone Illinois is recognized at the state and national levels for its highly successful health home model, its Crisis Stabilization Unit, and its innovative re-entry employment programs.
Markley received his BS in Criminal Justice and in Accounting from Murray State University in Kentucky and MBA from Century University in New Mexico. He has served on several local, national and statewide boards and is currently a member of several state and national behavioral health associations.
Dr. Mirza Baig received his MD from Kakatiya Medical College in India and completed his psychiatric residency at the Missouri Institute of Psychiatry. He is board certified in addiction medicine, psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, geriatric, and administrative psychiatry, and has over 35 years of experience in psychiatric medicine. Baig has served as Medical Director for Centerstone Illinois and its legacy organizations for nearly 15 years. Previously, he managed the forensic unit of an Illinois state operated facility for 20 years. He is an avid advocate for our clients and programs.
Jennifer Craig has more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health services working in community, residential and outpatient settings as a therapist and administrator. She is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Centerstone Illinois and previously served as Interim CEO/COO of WellSpring Resources prior to the organization’s merger with Centerstone. She has extensive experience in Performance Improvement, Organizational Development, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing and Leadership Development.
Craig received her BS from Northwestern University, her MA in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University and her MS in Organization and Management from Capella University. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois, is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Society for Human Resource Professionals Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
She currently serves on the board of the Illinois Association for Behavioral Health. She is a former member of the Illinois Counseling Association’s Governing Council, Past President of the Lewis and Clark Chapter of the Illinois Counseling Association and Member of the Society for Human Resource Professionals. She is also involved in volunteer community service activities through her local Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter and her local church.
Cathy Moehring, LCPC, is Vice President of Quality Improvement for Centerstone Illinois. In this role, she provides oversight and leadership of the organization’s quality improvement systems. This includes ensuring the organization is adhering to all certification, licensure and accreditation standards. Moehring received her B.A. in psychology and sociology, and her Master’s in Public Administration from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She has over 35 years of experience with Centerstone and its legacy organizations in quality improvement and clinical operations. Ms. Moehring is a long-term resident of Union County.
Anne Tyree, MPA, CFRE, is Vice President Marketing & Business Development for Centerstone Illinois. Previously she served as WellSpring Resources Chief Development Officer/Chief Financial Officer. Tyree has over 20 years of experience in marketing, strategic business planning, budgeting, business development, advocacy, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, capital project planning and funding, and supportive housing development and construction.
Tyree received her BA from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her MPA with an emphasis on health care from American Public University. She is Vice President for the Community Behavioral Healthcare Association of Illinois, and serves on the Madison County CSBG Advisory Group. Previously she served as Vice President of the Supportive Housing Provider’s Association of Illinois, on the Governor’s Task Force for Supportive Housing, and as co-chair of the Madison County Illinois Continuum of Care. Born and raised in Chicago, She now lives in rural Jersey County in Southwestern Illinois.
Jean Alstat serves as Clinical Director for behavioral health, community and prevention services in the Carbondale, Marion and West Frankfort offices of Centerstone Illinois. In this role she oversees a variety of services including Prevention, Early Head Start, Community outreach, Family Services and Outpatient services.
Alstat received her Master’s degree in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Community Counseling. She has the National Counselor Certification and has worked for Centerstone and its legacy organizations for 20 years. She is a long-term resident of Jackson County.
Helen Blackburn is Clinical Director of Vocational & Residential Services for Centerstone Illinois. In this role she oversees residential and vocational programming for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs.
Blackburn received her MS in Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern Illinois University. She is a qualified intellectual disabilities professional (QIDP) and a licensed clinical practicing counselor (LCPC). She has worked for Centerstone and its legacy organizations for a combined 11 years. She resides in Carbondale.
Kimberly A. Fleck, Human Resources Director, has worked for Centerstone Illinois and its legacy companies for more than 30 years. Fleck has experience in support services, administration, and human resources over the course of her career. She began working in Human Resources specifically in 1998 and was promoted to Director in 2012.
In 2009, Fleck was certified as Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and in 2015 as a Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). She is a long term resident of Franklin County.
Janette Heath, LCPC has almost 20 years of experience at Centerstone and its legacy organizations in assessment, crisis, community-based services, counseling, and administration in the behavioral health field. She currently serves as Clinical Excellence Director for Centerstone of Illinois. In this role she oversees clinical training, implementation of evidenced-based clinical models and ensures measurement of clinical outcomes for clients.
She received her BS in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Culver-Stockton College and her MA in Human Development Counseling with an emphasis in Community Counseling from the University of Illinois -Springfield. She is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the National Honor Society for counseling professionals.
Rebeca Hudzik, Clinical Services Director, has over 15 years of experience in behavioral health services more than 10 with Centerstone and its legacy organizations. She currently oversees all clinical operations at the Alton location. Her experience ranges from in-patient, residential, and community services to office-based outpatient facilities.
Hudzik has a passion for working with those experiencing serious mental illness. Hudzik received her BS from the University of Illinois and MS from Lindenwood University. She is a long-term resident of Madison County.
Angela Manns is Medical Services Director for Centerstone Illinois. In this role she is responsible for managing statewide psychiatric and medical resources, and the state’s Medication Assisted Treatment services for adults addicted to opiates. In addition to recruiting and supervising all Illinois nursing staff, she is very involved in recruitment and hiring of physicians and nurse practitioners for the organization.
Manns received her BS in nursing from Kaplan University in Davenport, Iowa and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis. She has worked in medical services and Medication Assisted Treatment for Centerstone and its legacy organizations for five years.
Stacey Overturf serves as Director of Finance for Centerstone Illinois. In this role she oversees the organization’s fiscal operations, supervising finance and accounts receivable staff.
Overturf received her BS in accounting from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She has worked in finance for Centerstone and its legacy organizations for almost 27 years. She is a long-term resident of Franklin County.
Chrissy Wedel serves as Customer Experience Director for Centerstone Illinois. In this role she works to improve Centerstone Illinois’ Customer Service, supervises Customer Experience Specialists, serves on an Enterprise Customer Improvement Team, works with the Customer Experience sub-group affiliated with the CIL Board and acts as the team lead for Customer Experience in numerous special projects. Wedel has worked in the Customer Service field for almost 27 years and worked for Centerstone and its legacy organizations for the past 10 years.
Elena Voigt serves as Executive Assistant to John Markley, CEO of Centerstone Illinois. She has been in that position since January 2015. Previously, she was Accounting Coordinator for Centerstone and its legacy organizations, where she has worked for more than 22 years. She resides with her husband in rural Southern Illinois.
